From DIMA to DIMIA to DIAC

The Department of Immigration changed its name to DIAC, Department of Immigration and Citizenship.  Everyone is still getting used to this name change.  We also need to remind readers that the new DIAC Minister is now Hon. Kevin Andrews MP, who is being assisted by the new Assistant Minister:  Hon. Teresa Gambaro, MP

Migration regulations are current at the time of writing this article. DIAC has the right to change these regulations at any time. This article has been written to provide general information only. Readers should seek professional advice to discuss their particular situations.
